PM Modi takes dip at Maha Kumbh after riding boat with UP CM Yogi
A 19-year-old boy, Prince Kumar, was abducted from his residence located in Kol-105. Dilip Kumar, the father of the victim, filed a complaint stating that Sanjay Rajak, along with a group of accomplices, entered his home and threatened his family before kidnapping his son. The abductors forcibly took Prince Kumar away in a silver-colored Wagon R car. Shortly after the incident, Dilip Kumar received a WhatsApp video from his son, in which Prince Kumar confirmed that he was being taken away by the kidnappers.
Following the kidnapping, the suspects contacted Dilip Kumar through a phone call, using mobile number 8282****33. They demanded a ransom of Rs. 1.5 lakh and instructed Dilip Kumar to travel to Howrah to secure his son's release. In response, the police from Pragati Maidan station, led by the Officer-in-Charge (OC), immediately intervened. The complainant was instructed to comply with the kidnappers' demand and head toward Howrah, while a team of officers discreetly followed him, maintaining a safe distance.
As Dilip Kumar followed the kidnappers’ instructions, police officers, while continuing to monitor the situation, were able to track his movement through various local lanes. After careful surveillance, they intercepted the location where Prince Kumar was being held and successfully rescued him from the kidnappers' clutches. The kidnappers, identified as Sanjay Rajak (45), Rajesh Mallick (48), Sonu Kr Mallick (27), and Bishal Yadav (34), along with three other accomplices, were apprehended at the scene and arrested.
A subsequent search led to the recovery of the silver-colored Wagon R car, bearing registration number WB02V8575, which was used during the kidnapping. The vehicle was found nearby and seized as part of the investigation. During the course of the inquiry, it was revealed that the motive behind the kidnapping was a financial dispute. Dilip Kumar had borrowed money from the accused and failed to repay the principal amount, which ultimately led to the abduction. All arrested individuals are facing charges related to kidnapping, extortion, and related offenses. Authorities are continuing their investigation, and further legal actions will be taken against the suspects.
